4. District

The large baroque Karlskirche is the center of Wieden, the 4th district. The adjoining Karlsplatz is a popular meeting point for students of the nearby Technical University. This great spot hosts for example one of the biggest Advent markets in the winter and an open-air cinema in the summer. In the so called Freihaus area you find galleries, book stores and local designer shops. The alternative bars, cafes and restaurants attract a hip urban crowd.
