How long shall I sign the lease Agreement?

For single and two-family homes, there is no minimum lease period. For all others, the minimum period is essentially one year.
Austrian law requires a lease duration of minimum three years; however the tenant may terminate the lease after one year following three months' notice.

The owner is responsible for serious damages to the structure of the house (roof, outside windows, pipes). Tenants are generally responsible for the upkeep of apartment and furnishings, which includes repair and replacement of appliances.


What are the best districts for a family moving to Vienna?

For families with school aged children, the major international schools and expat communities are in districts 19 and 22. While central districts are primarily composed of apartments, the more distant 19th and 22nd districts offer single-family homes.
